Essence: Sweet children, you must never become tired of studying. Be tireless. To be tireless means to reach the karmateet stage.

Question: What have you children promised and why?
Answer: You have promised: I will never cause sorrow for anyone. I will show everyone the path to happiness.

Question: Which children are sustained by the yagya?
Answer: Those who consider themselves to be trustees, that is, those who completely surrender themselves from the heart. They stay in a household, they carry on with their business, but are trustees. Then, it is as though they are eating from Shiv Baba’s treasure store.

Song: You are the Mother and the Father.

Essence for dharna:

1. Follow the Mother and Father and sustain everyone with knowledge and yoga. Keep yourself under that sustenance. Become intense in knowledge and yoga.

2. Eat food prepared by those who are pure and yogi. In order to purify the intellect, take great precautions about your diet.

Blessing: May you be a true server who achieves success while doing service with total surrender.

A true server is one who serves with total surrender. There shouldn’t be the slightest consciousness of “mine” in service. Where there is the consciousness of “mine,” there cannot be success. When someone thinks, “This is my work, this is my idea, this is my duty,” then this consciousness of “mine” creates attachment. However, wherever you may be staying, always have the awareness of being an instrument – “This home is not mine but it is a place for service.” Then, with the consciousness of “total surrender” you will become humble and a destroyer of attachment and achieve success in service.

Slogan: Always remain seated on your seat of self-respect and all the powers will continue to obey your orders.

This murli is warning us that we are in the “bondage” of studying. Of course, this does not mean to read the Murli 108 times. The issue is not in reading. It is imbibing. Studying “spirituality” is deeper than reading and memorizing lines. It is to transform sanskars.

This Murli also mentioned deep knowledge about the soul. The soul has mind, intellect and sankaras. Even though we like to think about “peace of mind,” in reality we mean that the soul feels peace.

Therefore, we are peace, for peace is an original quality of the soul.

Then, it makes sense to get in touch with the self to find that peace that we already are, but we don’t know about. We have the necklace already, but we are looking for it around the house. We will not be able to find it until we look into a “mirror,” which are the tests that come into our life which will be able to show us that necklace. OR, if we have the strength to look inside, we will realize that.

Remembrance of the Father at the end is meant so we can find ourselves, for the Father has the same exact qualities as we do. We can perceive those in Him, but incredibly enough; we cannot see those in ourselves. That is why the “ugly duckling” who is actually a swan, needs plenty of “ego stroking” so he can find his own self-respect.

Baba also mentioned about the part of a soul, the role “being recorded.” Even though this brings the idea that we are “puppets” of destiny, we are not. Those roles have not been recorded at all. They have always been there. Those are the expression of us at different points is time. Therefore, as long as I am not able to detach from “my” sanskaras, I will not be able to be a detached observer.

Finally the blessing brings the idea of attachment through the consciousness of “mine.” This is not just a word, it is consciousness. We need to observe that in us. This goes along with the idea of “surrendering” and being a “trustee” many words expressing the idea of ego-less.

We can be a trustee and be sustained by the Yagya, while living in a household, as the question/answer stated. This is a very important step forward in the understanding of gyan, for even if you are a “surrendered” soul taking care of Baba’s centers; dressing in white and wearing a badge; the yagya, the sacrificial fire, gives sustenance to householders as well. It is a matter of living the word “trustee,” and not a matter of a particular role.
