The pursue of inner-change
“Change yourself” for you can be “better”…A saint, an angel… 🙂
In religious “spirituality” we learned that there are “good” actions and “bad” actions.
A “black or white” vision of the world appeared. There is a clear “line” separating “good from bad.” A person needs only to do “good actions” to be “good.” Change your “bad actions into good.”
In the discovery that actions by itself cannot be conveniently categorized in “good or bad” without looking at the intention behind them, some guru discovered that a thought is the driven factor of that intention. “New age” Spirituality came up with the mantra: “ Change your thoughts to change your Life.”
A change of thought is a change of “reality” as long as you “believe it.”
“I am bad…” excuse that thought… “I am good.”
“I cannot do it..” What??? “You can!”
“What an ugly day!” I mean… “What a beautiful day!”
That inner lying kept its momentum until the realization that changing thoughts is not “good” unless our feelings are also changed.
If I feel worthless, the thought will be “I am worthless” then, to think: “I am worthy” is a straight lie.
Do we see the pattern of pretending to change ourselves?
We went from “help thy neighbor” (“good” action)
Even though we may despise our neighbor (“bad” intention) therefore, change your thought.
Think: “I love my neighbor” many times and believe it.
However, we cannot pretend to change what we feel.
The new bestseller guru said:
Change your feelings, then!!!
At that point “Spirituality” transformed into a way to sell methods to change our feelings, to be “in tune with reality.”
Raymond was calmly observing Nature. A bee appeared. A thought came: “Get out, don’t sting me.” The feeling was fear.
Why did fear appear in Raymond?
Because there is an “I” to protect.
The key of understanding feelings is to understand the “I.”
As the “I” is understood experientially, change will happen. To understand it, observe it. Don’t read about it. Observe it.
Life is change and we are Life. If we flow in Life, change is guaranteed, for that is Life.
The “I” cannot change itself, for all it has is a preconceived notion (taught by moral standards set by societies) of what to “become.” It is an ideal, a thought.
The “I” cannot change itself for it is already separated from Life, from “what is.”
The “I” cannot change itself because it has beliefs which are delineating and supporting its very existence.
Observation of our feelings without any particular aim or objective, will allow us to be aware of how any external changes brought about by our environment and circumstances will influence the way we feel.
It is in that awareness of “what is” without a rejection or an intention to “change it” to make it “better,” to “fix it,” how our acknowledgement will present the position for consciousness to change.
It is not by “doing” something how “self transformation” or “change“ happens, but by letting it happen.
If a dog could think like a modern human being….
Ananda was sitting by the Seaplane Basin, a lovely spot to contact Nature.
In the grassy area near the small beach, a dog was running around as if there was no life but to run.
“Precious pup” was happily hanging his tongue in its mouth and barking a the birds nearby, then “Precious” would smell the vegetation, run some more, bark here and there and you could see and feel that energetic, overflowing happiness all around “Precious… “
The owner of “Precious”, Mr. Smith; was a very busy man. He was reading stuff in his latest I-Pad in the middle of such beautiful scene of Nature.
“If Precious had a “great” mind of its own, Precious could be as smart as a human being;” Ananda thought.
Rather than to run for the fun of it; Precious could come up with something “better.”
How about competing with “Rufus,” the Labrador across the street?
Precious is just a mutt according to his owner, but “Rufus” has some pedigree …and Precious “thinks” that he is a better runner.
Precious even came up with the idea of making a flag to represent the “Smith’s household,” in that way everyone in that house could feel as a “team” against the “Parker’s” represented by the “amazing” Rufus.
“Precious pup” versus the “amazing” Rufus; was a headline in the local newspaper that Precious wanted to see.
Precious pup thought that the winner should get a “Golden biscuit” sponsored by “Mom and Pop’s bakery.”
The picture of the winner will be featured in the box of the next batch of biscuits… Everyone loves to be with the winner… and that means business for “Mom and Pop’s.” 🙂
“Precious pup” decided to start a serious training regime… Now the fun was over. He finally had a “purpose,” other than lazy enjoyment. 😦
This is serious business… just like his owner has taught Precious… no time to feel enjoyment for the sake of it, no time for existing in the reality of Nature… when the “mental human world” is “reality” for the “majority.”
Precious needs to run faster and faster… Precious needs to win the “Golden biscuit” and become famous. No matter what it takes. That is to be successful in this life!!
Ananda reflected on those wild thoughts. Isn’t that what our society has already arrived to?
Competition is “fun” – “They” say; but then “They” say that “winning isn’t everything. It is the only thing.”
Our society has bought this mental concept of life based on superiority of some over others. This superiority complex arrives out of our own inferiority complex.
We have changed the experience of enjoyment as doing something for the sake of it; to the mental concept of enjoyment through the achievement of a goal.
In that mentality, obviously all that matters is the end result and there is “fun” only when we “win.” Our society moves under this premise not only in sports, but also in business,(Survival of the fittest) in our beliefs in the afterlife (Heaven is for the few, the winners) and in the way we could raise a child, creating dysfunctional personalities; for there is no competition in Nature, in life; for otherwise there is no balance.
Nevertheless, we created that world, we bought the idea. We believe in that.. therefore that exists… it is “real.”
When we are “brain washed” in that way, we cannot possibly experience enjoyment and appreciation of the moment, the present; but we are only concerned about the future; what is to come next for me? How do “I “arrive there? What do I get out of it?
See that all of those questions are truly building up a personality, which thrives in a never-ending mental cage… Enjoyment cannot be found there at all. The mind has to be free to enjoy.
Intelligence resides in the realization of that “game.” It is not about being “against that game” for that entails to be still in the game. It is about realizing it, to enjoy it for what it is: a mind game. That is all.
This is all….Nighttime changing into daylight
Some people figured out that there is drinking water scarcity, that climate is changing unexpectedly and with that a new pattern for wildlife is being created. Natural resources are being utilized more than ever, population is growing exponentially using up all of our resources, etc. etc.
Some people concluded that we are destroying our planet by depleting it.
Other people are afraid of the political changing governments of many countries in the world. They are afraid of terrorism overtaking and destroying different countries. They are afraid of “developed countries” financing the outcome of wars by providing “upgraded” armaments to less developed countries in the name of “freedom and democracy.”
These people see that a nuclear war could be started at any time. There is fear for destruction.
Then, you have the other side of duality.
Those who claim that all of that is “nonsense.” There are no “proofs,” for any of that and those observations come from negative and mentally handicapped people, sensationalist trying to make “a dollar.”
As a matter of fact, these people see the world as a better place to be. They argue that we have more comfort, more technology which is capable of solving all problems. The statistics of life expectancy are going up, there is life insurance, medical benefits, education and TV… the forces of the “market” are decisive in the economical growth of nations, so all efforts should be made to encourage further use of natural resources of the planet, which are plentiful.
The masses, when listening to contradictory versions, will go for the easy ride and just watch cricket or football instead. Entertainment is good!
Who cares about those things when they have a job, a family and pets to take care of?
Just in case, Mr. politician will come to help out. “We should get together and come up with plans to solve any situation which could affect the future and well being of our children. We should remain united, for our children are the future of our nations.”
Applauses and ovations for such a “great solution” are expected. That guy, really knows what he is talking about. It is about time to get that sort of solution. He will be elected again.
In the meantime, Religions will talk about “doomsday.” It is time to forget about the world and think about the after life. Be good. Do good and leave the rest to God. Keep praying.
Everyone has their own role in this Drama of life. Everyone has a part to play.
While people keep thinking about “making changes,” and “doing things,” to save the world; others are busy destroying it to maintain the “holy” forces of the economical markets going. The law of “supply and demand” is more important than any other law.
That is an example of unity.
In the meantime, some may sit and relax watching how nighttime changes into daylight.
No matter what people “want to do,” no matter what “upgraded” technology people has, still daylight will come. It is just a matter of time.
Therefore:
Is the world getting better?
Of course, it is. Day light is coming.
Is the world getting worse?
Certainly. Nighttime is disappearing little by little.
Paradox.
It is just the game of the night changing into daylight.
Do not get scared by being trapped into more dualistic words.
All is good for eternal beings while playing their role. Just a role. Roll on! 🙂
Reader remark: Duality
“Picking one side means to acknowledge the other, for one side exists because of the other.
Free your awareness from duality and all of the sudden, we will see something different, which was hidden from the “intellectual” mind. That is freedom from the known.
avyakt7″
Dear Avk 7,
The gap between these 2 sentences speaks a lot.
The first sentence (in italics,) has a meaning only in night i.e. Copper-Iron & Confluence Age. It is meaningless in the day as there is no darkness, no contrast.
When u free ur awareness from duality there is only one side of a coin or same thing on both sides of the coin. Only Happiness, Peace…..etc. Ichchha matram avidya (= ignorance of even the word desire.)
Even in night though both sides are there but there is no clarity. Happiness & sorrow will be there, but we do not understand them accurately as they are, as our intellect is corrupt.
This Confluence is the only time where everything is crystal clear, if our intellect is S. P. (Sato Pradhan).
Even in day G. A. & S. A. though there is no contrast there will be superlative or whatever they say in English. (It is not my mother tongue, so excuse me.) That is some one will be better than other and still someone will be best or one of the best in some skill or speciality or wealth or…
But no one will feel anything abt. it. (anyway he is my brother)
Dear soul,
There is the world of non-duality and the world of duality… For us being conscious of the world of duality “now” the phrase in italics still apply. We pick non-duality, but still experience duality. On the other hand for a being like a deity who is unaware of duality; there is no duality at all.
When we free ourselves from duality there is no happiness, neither peace as a concept. Those concepts “happiness and peace” have their opposites as well. The experience of being beyond duality is beyond words. WHy? because our language expresses duality.
The experience of being beyond duality could be expressed as “bliss,” however that is just a label to express something that cannot be put in labels… When we are caught in the rationality of words, we miss the experience.
In the confluence age we have knowledge, but as you realize it is numberwise. So that “crystal clear” addition is numberwise. We are finding “new” things about gyan and going deeper than what it was possible before.
The words “better than” are words used in duality only. Such a word couldn’t exist in a world where duality is non-existent.
You value wealth, skills, status, etc. Over there, they realize those are just roles. Once you are blissful, how can you think that you are “more blissful” than someone else?
Only here in duality and without the full experience of bliss.
Best wishes!
