Reader comment and another reader question
“Dear Avyakt7,
I wanted to share something that happened to me in terms of shift in consciousness. Its festival time in India and lots of celebrations take place like any other geography at this time of the year.
The OLD Me: When I used to observe people who dance either during the Ganesh festival or during Garba Ras (navrathri) was all “These people are in body consciousness and they do not have a clue of why they are dancing etc.. Again no fault of people who have expressed their feelings from the BK world.
The New Me : These people are all my fellow beings who are just having a great time celebrating and being joyful- Can i not soak in to their joy and feel great about it? If I knew dancing I would have been glad to go and dance along with them. Once this shift in consciousness happened internally, experienced a never before feeling of oneness and world family.
A small step nevertheless but for me a significant one. It gave me a lot of joy just being there and observing myself go ” AHA”…
I just wanted to share this because without this blog I don’t think that this would have been possible. I just have a different understanding of what Bapdada has been trying to tell through the murli’s.
Many Many thanks for helping me understand the self better.”
Dear reader,
Thank you for sharing your experience. Glad to know that you feel the improvement! Learning some dancing moves could enhance your joy! 🙂
Perhaps next time you could observe the inner chattering in yourself (which you have described.) Perhaps, your mind dialogue will not be there with opinions. Perhaps next time just joy for the sake of it will be in your consciousness so the external joy harmonizes with the internal. That would be joy without words… 🙂
Dear reader, please keep in mind that this blog is about spirituality and that spirituality is the same but only explained with different words by different teachers.
What you understood from BapDada before was due to your state of consciousness. What you can understand now is also due to your state of consciousness. Some may see things that you don’t; others may not see what you see. That is the game.
Thank you for your continuous support and my best wishes for that spiritual progress.
Q: “I would like to know who is in charge of this blog. May I know it or it has to be incognito? I thank you in advance for your answer.”
Dear reader,
Sure, you can. It is “me.” “Me” is a nobody.
Best wishes! 🙂
Consciousness: Why some people achieve more and others do not?
“Dear Brother, After reading you blog on consciousness, i feel, being in body consciousness comes naturally to us while to experience that self inside takes lot of practice and effort. Why does that happen? At the end of the day i want to experience what i actually am. Why for some people its difficult to understand while for others its easy? Again is my state of consciousness, a role being played. If that is so, then don’t you think there is a bias. Regards.”
Dear reader,
Thank you for you great question!
Avyakt7 is sharing his experience, not the “truth.” Those states of consciousness could fluctuate. These sharings are meant for readers to recognize if they had the same experience, a glimpse or something like that. Avyakt7 is just trying to put that into words. These sharings are not meant for readers to “follow” those experiences and put beliefs in their heads of what they need to “reach.” This is not a game of “levels” where you get more points as you go “higher.”
Body consciousness is natural for us, because our consciousness is limited to that. Greater consciousness means to be able to experience different “realities” which will give us a greater openness to different views and perspectives in life.
If you understood the writings on consciousness then you will need to forget about body consciousness as being “bad.” It is not. It is just a state of consciousness. That is all.
Have you experienced other types of consciousness besides “body consciousness”?
If your answer is “no,” then how could you assume that it takes a “lot of effort and practice”? Please don’t put beliefs in your mind. Just keep it clear.
If your answer is “yes,” then you will know the answer of your own question: Why does it happen?
Dear reader, the spiritual path is not about “wanting” something or trying to “achieve” something. Those concepts are related with the “reality” of the world of achievements, what “normal” people call the “real world.” Anything that you achieve is not you. You cannot achieve yourself.
Once that mentality of striving to get someplace or to desire to be someone else is over, then we could be at ease, calm and let things be by themselves at their right time.
Consciousness will open, just be quiet in your mind, be still, be serene. That is the “effort.” 🙂
Why something so natural as being serene and calm has to be such an effort? 🙂
Dear reader, please see that this is not about “intellectual understanding.” There is a need to experience and that comes through the experience of your own natural serenity, so you can “see” and not be in a hurry looking for something to achieve, something to do, something to believe in.
There is no bias but only if you think about it. That is a human invention in the first state of consciousness.
Just allow yourself to “be” as you are now. Let that natural serenity emerge.
Best wishes!
Enlightenment through duality
The time comes when our belief that there is only an answer, a right answer for everything, will be challenged by reality itself.
It is “either this or that,” is one of the greatest beliefs which is limiting our perception of many avenues and many paths.
Anyone wants examples to clarify? 🙂
Is free will true, or it is predestination?
It is both and neither. It is both, for both exist according to our consciousness. It is neither because they are just ideas.
Are we mortal or immortal?
It is both and neither. We will die, but we are eternal as well. We are neither mortal nor immortal. We are both. Those are not ideas for there is an experience of that. Consciousness.
Does heaven exist?
It does and it doesn’t. It only exists when we are not in it. Once we are in it, it does not exist. Heaven exists only out of comparison, out of duality.
There is soul consciousness and body consciousness. Are we the soul or are we the body? Both and none. In duality we think of a separation. Without duality, there is nothing to be separated. There is a wholesome unity.
Soul consciousness is a label to denote absence of duality in our awareness: man and woman, life and death, heaven and hell, good and bad, etc.
If we could imagine a consciousness beyond duality, we could look for the origin of that duality: Our minds.
Thinking is separation. Analysis will not allow us to know. When the object separates from the subject, there is just description. A description is not the same as knowing.
That is why, to know is not related with thinking. Knowing is a very distinct faculty beyond thinking.
Logic is just the game of words, which exalts thinking.
If we look at the beauty of the waters of a river at dawn, we will perceive how nighttime changes into day light. Morning time does not exist. Afternoon does not exist. Night does not exist.
It is just continuity. It is unity perceived as three different stages, separated in an artificial way to allow for language to describe phases when there is none….but there is. 🙂
A thinking mind will see separation only. 11 PM does not exist but only in a thinking mind. Nevertheless, we call 11 PM “late.” That label creates an idea. When we believe in that idea we create a world of our own. When this world is made out of collective conventions, we live in our own “fantasy world.”
The irony is that we call that fantasy, reality. We call that life.
Mathias: How much time have you existed, Ananda?
Ananda: I am eternal.
Mathias: I have not asked that. I have asked, how much time have you existed?
Ananda: 27 years. I was born 27 years ago.
Mathias: and before that?
Ananda: I think that I have lived before. But there is no proof. I do not remember.
Mathias: Aren’t you eternal then? How long have you existed?
Ananda: My belief says that 5000 years. That is my belief.
Mathias: Mathias has not asked you about your belief. Mathias have asked you about how much time have you existed.
Ananda was in silence. Ananda wasn’t able to respond to Mathias because Ananda was caught up in reasoning, logic and duality.
Ananda couldn’t see that Ananda has lived as long as time has existed. No beliefs in that.
Question- June 19, 2013- The paradox of Oneness and Individuality
Om Shanti Dear Brother you say the subtle energy of life is not divided in many pieces. It is one. Does that mean Brahma and Shiva are just roles and not two different souls? If two souls are not different then how is it that the experiences and feelings of one soul are different from other souls at the same particular moment of time. If that living force is One then how is it that at same moment of time but at certain place that living force is in the state of Soul / Original Consciousness and at some another place the same living force is in body consciousness. Thank You
Dear soul,
Thank you for your question.
Please read again this reply written to a smilar question than yours.
http://bkgyan.com/2013/06/14/reader-remark-the-paradox-of-individuality-and-oneness/
The challenge of communicating some of this information is very steep.
This blog is being read by many individuals from all walks of life. Not only BKs.
As such, the spiritual knowledge shared here is not the “traditional” 7 day course and “black and white” concepts for, realizing BK knowledge without the devotional and ritualistic factors; will give you a different view.
Dear soul, This role is not “against rituals and devotional views.” This role accepts that (if that is important for some) but at the same time acknowledges that there are other view points as well where other individuals may understand and appreciate spirituality.
In these sharings we are finding out that there is something called a Paradox. Â That word has been used a lot in this blog. As a matter of fact, it is my understanding that many souls including BKs are appreciating the extent of that concept. Â The same thing with “numberwise” and “entropy.”
Those concepts have not been explored in depth by a typical “7 day course,” for it could become confusing for some; I suppose.
However, in this blog we can realize that addition and subtraction are not the only mathematical operations. Why become stuck in adding and subtracting only; for the sake of “simplicity,” and so “everyone could understand,” when there is division and multiplication as mathematical operations?
This blog is merely showing that. Some may understand, some may not. Many could say that because multiplication and division are not taught in BK knowledge, this is not BK knowledge . 🙂  For that, I just have to say:  “Time will tell.” 🙂  If you want to  add 108 times 8, go ahead. I rather multiply  108 x 8.  Same result, however.
Spirituality is ONE, not many; but viewed from different perspectives according to roles and understanding.
With this lengthy introduction, let me just go back into the “basics” to answer your question.
Is the Drama one or many? 🙂
If the Drama is one, and roles are pre-ordained through that One Drama; that means that ONE manifests into many (souls) right?
A soul without a role is like a “sleeping beauty.” There may be individuality but not consciousness and without consciousness, no one is there…  🙂
You see many roles and many souls. I see ONE DRAMA (One living force) being interpreted through many souls.
Both perspectives are right.
This is called a Paradox.Â
Body consciousness and soul consciousness are just “consciousness” dictated by a role at a particular time.
There is “no consciousness” and “consciousness.”  (Being and non-being) Within that consciousness, there is soul consciousness and body consciousness.
Why is all of the above important, and why not just stick with the “basics”?
Because the “truth” is beyond the “basics.”
To understand that, will give us the openness to acknowledge different view points, so to defend a particular religious ideology is no longer the point… but the point is to “see” Spirituality in all different views. Just like different souls expressing different roles; which paradoxically go back to Oneness of the Drama, the living force.
Best wishes!
Depth of Spiritual Knowledge: Being and Non-Being
If we could truly go into this writing and nothing else, to really look at it for a little while; perhaps we could understand something to liberate ourselves from our own preconceptions, our own little beliefs, our conditioned dogmas and traditions, our own rituals and slaving thoughts.
There is “being and non-being.” What does that actually mean in BK knowledge or in any other spiritual knowledge?
There is duality. Every religion points to that in one way or another; using childish language or one for grown ups.
Being means what “is” then non-being will be “what is not.” They are not static “realities.” Those states change all the time. One will become the other. The problem is that we choose one state and reject the other. That is all. We call one state “holy” and the other “sinful.” One state cannot exist without the other.
There is day. It is 10 AM. Night is not there. That is being and non-being.
There is “soul consciousness,” because of that; there is “body consciousness.” Being and non-being.
Therefore, an eternal being, will experience non-being that. Maya. The Illusion.
In a nutshell, this is the depth of BK knowledge.
We could build upon this in many ways according to the motivation of the one who is relating this observation, this realization. I can make a religion out of this. A philosophy. A dogma. Followers are needed. Just believe. No need to understand.
When there is being and non-being; we could observe that changes come little by little. It is a gradual movement from one state into the other.
We could conveniently divide that change into 4 seasons. That is the cycle of time.
Just as Spring and Summer are related, so it is Winter and Fall. Not 4 but 2 seasons. Soul consciousness. Body consciousness. Yin and Yang.
It is the absence of heat and the presence of it; or the presence of cold and the absence of it. Being and non-being. Heat increases gradually. Cold increases gradually. Entropy.
Is heat different than cold? The gradual absence of one makes the other. They are not 2 but One.
To understand that concept deeply, so it is no longer just a concept; means to liberate ourselves from all other concepts.
Which other concepts? Omnipresent and individual God. Good and Evil. Pleasure and Pain. Anything that seems opposite. Anything that we have conveniently selected one side and rejected the other side. All of that is gone. Repressions are gone so to indulge in something is gone too. Virtues and Vices. No more dualistic concepts. See beyond. This is not for beginners.
In the gradual change of being and non-being; souls will appear in the scenario of the Drama of life. Every soul has a preordained role to play. That role will be played to help the Oneness of the Drama to change from being into non-being.
Actors of the Drama merely aid into this transformation by acknowledging a role running through them.
Therefore, an actor can believe that “he is doing things,” or he can realize that “he is an spectator of the role assigned to him.” Become a “I and mine,” or a “trustee.” Being or non-being.
Being and actor or Being an spectator. Being and non-being.
That consciousness reflects happiness or sorrow. Being and non-being. Being happy or not. Duality. Even though those states are related with a role, the soul; is beyond that duality.
Religions have created the rest of the story. Someone to worship. Someone to fear. Someone to obey. Someone to lie.
Punishment. Guilt. The sinner. Heaven and Hell.
It is just about where our consciousness is located. Being or non-being.
We are truly eternal beings not realizing our own eternity.
A wealthy man sleeping on the cold floor of conceptual fear.
That is our history.
Being and non-being.
Easy Raja Yoga Knowledge as 1-2-3-4
If you ever wanted to know how “life/Drama works” according to Raja Yoga gyan, in easy to understand steps; that you could communicate to anyone; here is the “churning” (realization) fresh from the “inner bakery” 🙂
Life, which is known as “Drama” is ONE (1.) That is all it has ever existed. There is nothing before it. It is eternal.
Life or the Drama is in continuous movement; that is matter and energy continuously transform. That perception of change, is what we call as “time.”
That change, that movement, experiences entropy. That means that it “degrades” in quality. It is “numberwise” and it is reflected by the souls arriving to the Drama of life at a certain point in time. This experience of “entropy” could be divided into “soul consciousness” and “body consciousness.”(2) Two.
Soul consciousness means non-duality (1)
Body consciousness is duality (2) Therefore, that is (3) Three in the Drama.
Finally, Soul consciousness has 2 seasons: Spring and Summer.
Body consciousness has 2 seasons as well: Fall and Winter.
Those (4) seasons make up the cycle of time; also known as Golden, Silver, Copper and Iron ages.
As we can see, the Drama is ONE.
The Drama is TWO
The Drama is THREE
The Drama is FOUR.
From ONE, it expands through entropy, (into 2,3, and 4) so it can collapse into ONE again.
From the seed it expands into a tree of many things to collapse into the seed again.
Therefore, to understand knowledge is to know the “seed” and its capacity to expand.
Now some Trivia: 🙂
The numerical progression on number of births according to Gyan.
Soul consciousness: 8+ 12 = 20 plus 1 at the “confluence age” when coming from body consciousness into soul consciousness; that is equal to 21.
Copper age number of births = to Golden age + Silver age+ Confluence age.
That is 21 births in the Copper age = to the same number of 21 births in soul consciousness.
Iron age is equal to twice as much as the Copper age (42) or twice as much as the Golden + Silver + Confluence age number of births.
That “one” birth is a transitional birth on the same physical body; thus we can also say that we can get as many as 83 different bodies in the cycle of time, but we can take as many as 84 births… 🙂
Question: Dear brother, In your article “Signing up for Brahmin life” you talk about “final moments”, Can you please explain that in detail as to how this will be for a Brahmin soul at the end?
Dear soul,
I remember that Avyakt BapDada explained exactly what Brahma Baba went trough while leaving the body. He mentioned something like: “On one hand it was the power of yoga pulling and on the other the last karmic accounts..” I wasn’t able to find that particular avyakt Murli, but it will be appreciated if a reader would like to share it.
However I found this excerpt from November 17, 196, which explains the “issue” in a very easy to follow language:
“Do you know which is the last rung you have to come down? To renounce the awareness of your body. When you remove the clothes from your body, you remove them so easily. In the same way you should be able to remove the costume of this body easily, and also be able to adopt it easily at the right time. Some of you still have to learn this practice fully. Why are some of you not able to break your body consciousness. Those who have tight clothes are not able to take them off. This is the same. If this costume, which is the body, is stuck to any sanskar, that is if it is tight, it does not come off. Otherwise it is easy to come down and to go up. That is, to shed the costume and to put it on again is very easy, just as it is easy to take off and put on physical clothes. You have to see which sanskar the costume of the body is attached to. When you become detached from all sanskars your stage will become unique. This is why BapDada explains many times: “remain easy in everything”. When you remain easy in everything, all tasks become easy. When you make yourself tight, there is tightness in the task also.”
Therefore, that “test” will be the one experienced in the “our final moments,” if we cannot take the consciousness of the body “off,” there will be suffering.
Best wishes!
