Sainthood or Angel-hood?
Actions by itself do not carry a moral value. The intention behind the action becomes the important ingredient for every action. That intention cannot be faked to ourselves.
We could lie to others but never to ourselves.
I could donate tons of money for the welfare of “others,” but my intention is to get a tax break. For society, I may be a “great soul;” but for Life it is all about “my tax convenience,” which is not “bad” either.
Life returns an action based on the intention.
Moral codes and religions are caught up in the “Do not.” The actions.
Those “moral codes” automatically create saints and sinners.
A saint is a repressed individual.
Religions create saints.
Want to be a saint?
You know the path.
There is nothing wrong with becoming a saint. Our society supports sainthood. A saint follows to the dot and beyond what our society perceives as “positive.” To take away those behaviors, which are deemed as “impure”, is the task of repression.
That is the reason why repression has been taught as a way to “purify” the self.
For example, if the Buddha embraced celibacy in his late years, for the follower that means that “we have to be celibate now to be like him.”
Forget about that the Buddha had a kid. Forget about the fact of his age compared to many younger followers. Forget about the fact that the Buddha embraced celibacy, as a natural state of his consciousness, thus there was no conflict in him.
For the rest, that repression becomes a sign of sainthood.
Let me share a secret.
Saints cannot “become” beings of light also known as “angels” until their life is harmonious with Life itself.
BUT WHY!!!!!
Any form of repression does not lead into enjoyment of Life. That is balance, harmony in Life is very important. How could you be an example to “others” if you are not naturally cheerful after going through all experiences in Life?
Do we think that by repressing, sucking it up and trying to forget about “it,” we will “conquer” our longings? How do we think this will affect our emotions?
Nevertheless, let me share this second secret with you. 🙂
To have the experience of “being a saint” is necessary to understand by EXPERIENCE rather than intellectually, one side of the swing of Life.
For example, Mike does not want to join a religious group because he finds that group to be repressing. Mike wants to “enjoy life.” “Enjoyment of Life” means for him to taste every single pleasure that Life offers to the extreme.
Mike will do that “tasting and more” in his life as he did it in other lives, but in this Life as Mike, he will experience something different. He will find himself completely drained, unhappy and looking for something “better.” Suffering will appear in his Life for the first time.
Even God may go across his path at this point. He may even have a “spiritual experience” to seal his destiny into a religion just to find the “path of sainthood,” the opposite of his current way of living.
Do we see the pattern?
Life will present to us as an oscillating swing in the playground of Life. One side of it, as Madonna could sing is to: ”Express yourself” just to go to the other side, in sainthood as: “Repress yourself.” Both are experiences of having a “Self.”
Even though, we have understood this intellectually, we must experience it ourselves to know. That is why, in Life; knowing is being. To know is not to keep information in our heads by reading books, listening to “experts,” etc. However, in the “office world” “information is power.” Thus, a balancing act is needed in a Life that integrates everything.
In Life unless we become our own “expert” by being awake, aware; we will be in the position to rely on a belief system.
As mentioned before, relying on a belief system is not “bad” but part of the oscillating swing of Life for some people; not all, but some.
To be caught up in a belief system means not to be able to enjoy the full oscillation of the swing.
A “being of light” is the one who had the experiences of the full swing and he is able to live harmoniously in Life, not taking sides, labeling and rejecting for he understands that the oscillations of the swing of life are “teachings” meant to be enjoyed. Integration with “what is” at every moment.
As we go into the air by swinging in that swing, we will oscillate to the other side, which will serve as propulsion to gain greater momentum, just like a pendulum. As you are up in the air, going back and forward, then an automatic, natural smile will appear… You are enjoying Life! 🙂
That enjoyment is not artificially made by something like: “You must love God” or the religious, “Be happy… you have been saved from experiencing x,y,z in Life.” That enjoyment is a natural offspring of the oscillation of Life.
Balance, harmony could be explained as the “middle way.”
Interestingly enough, the Buddha taught about the “middle way.” So did Christ, but Christianity is not the “teachings of Christ” but the teachings of Paul and later on, Popes and other “authorities,” people without the insight of Jesus.
That “middle way” teaching has been interpreted in so many ways that it has become a source of inner abuse or even organized abuse.
Here is another secret: 🙂
That “teaching” is not a teaching. It is a faint description of Buddha’s consciousness by using dualistic words and many translations, which obviously were misinterpreted by followers.
To know what the Buddha is talking about, we need to walk the path. “Walking the path” does not mean to join a Buddhist temple, or Buddhism, No! That is to regress into human interpretations. (Which is not bad either, but necessary for some) It is to be aware, awake, and conscious of the teachings brought to Life at every moment. Life is the “temple.”
Humans even as keepers of “Godly teachings,” can only teach about sainthood.
Only beings of light could “remind” someone about their own angelic nature. Not humans.
Life has it exactly in the way that it has to be. Perfect and complete.
All experiences will take us to our destination. Whether we choose or we don’t; we will get to our destiny in our own particular time. To trust Life is to love Life.
Enjoy the oscillations of the swing of Life!
The unlimited vision of “purity and impurity.”
One of the most used words in the BK vocabulary is the word “purity.”
In the Sakar Murli, purity means “brahmacharya,” that is celibacy.
The distinction was between those who followed a celibate life style and those who do not. Then, the distinction between “non-celibate” and “celibate” was replaced with a word which has a higher “respect,” and “importance,” that is “purity.”
“They are impure…” came to be a phrase of distinction.
As we heard the Avyakt Murli (but perhaps we forgot for we only hear it once a week) the word “purity” as BapDada uses it, encompasses more than celibacy, that is our words, thoughts and actions are without vices.
In English, purity means: “freedom from adulteration or contamination,” or “freedom from immorality.” The term also applies to the absence of vice in human character.
If we use those dictionary words, we can see that the popular: ”they are impure and we are pure,” is far from the reality. Why??
Raise your hand if you are free from contamination. 🙂 That is if you are free from vice…
Thus, it appears to me that unless we have reached the “karmateet” stage, we all belong to the “impure group.” How about that?

In the unlimited, that is in the Drama, we will see that every soul will experience their higher stage of virtuous living in their first role in the Drama, and from that point; it will decline.
Therefore, it is not that there is a clear distinction between a vice and a virtue. It is the same thing but in different degrees. Positive side and negative side, if you would.
In other words, detachment will become attachment after so many births. See that?
Therefore, to try to “get rid of attachment” means to get rid of detachment as well. 🙂 That is why only greater consciousness can give us back a virtuous behavior.
To put this explanation in different words, let us say that there is a battery. That battery when fully charged is called “detachment,” that same battery when empty of electrical power, is called “attachment.”
What is important to see is that the moment in every soul when power reaches 50% will be different for we are “numberwise” and that capacity of holding electricity is different among batteries.
The tricky part to recognize in this example is: at which level detachment becomes attachment for the first time?
Suffering is the gauge.
The point is that we cannot have a blanket statement that this one is “impure” and this other “pure” for there are many levels of that.
Moreover, the word “pure” is continually used as a source of pride and ego, when there are indeed very few at this time who have reached that state of being viceless.
To avoid that problem of labeling with the connotation of making a huge difference among human beings, when as demonstrated there may not be that much difference for “we are mixed together in a bag of candies,” with the only difference that some realize that and others do not; then the question is: which words can I use without hurting someone but at the same time, to be able to express with greater accuracy; when suffering makes the distinction of detachment becoming attachment?
Then, the words “identification with form” came to the rescue.
Those words are used by Mr. Eckhart Tolle in his explanation of suffering. (By the way; I truly recommend reading his book: “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose.” Any Bk who is seriously studying ego, will receive lots of benefit. Many times I have found many of the explanations that Gyan gives there, with just different wording. As we know, Mr. Tolle does not have knowledge of the Drama so there will be some shortcomings, but as far as the study of ego, emotions and thoughts and the experience of the self which he calls:”Presence,” he has done a pretty good job in my view. There are only 3 books in my life, which i have read from cover to cover and this one is one of them.)
Those who suffer are identified with the “form.” That word “form” not only means physical form, but also our mind making an “object” out of everything. For example, if someone who I was waiting for does not show up, then my mind will make an “object” called feeling left out or forgotten and even not getting respect. That self created suffering is an “object” created by the mind which does not exist (for we do not know the “real” reason for the person not showing up.) Once we find out that reason as to why the person did not show up, we may not take it that personal.
Those words also fit nicely into the concept of “body consciousness,” which have been misinterpreted as denying the body.
Yes, we are caught up with words.
Then that attachment comes, when we first start identifying with a form.
See how nicely it fits? Otherwise, we will have to say: “that attachment comes when we first became impure.” 🙂 Which is completely meaningless. Why do we become impure? Drama… 🙂
In short, I feel that the words: “to be identified with a form” is a much better fit than the loaded word “pure” and also “impure.”
In those words, there is no separation among human beings and at the same time those words are able to express what happens in the “Unlimited” Drama which is beyond the “black and white” wordings of “pure and impure.”
“Those who become the most elevated beings then become the lowest too. “
“Those who first of all become the most elevated beings then become the middle and then the lowest. Therefore, Lakshmi and Narayan are the most elevated. They are the most elevated of all human beings. Then, when they come down, they change from deities into warriors, from warriors into merchants, then into shudras and the lowest ones.” SM 1-28-13
It is interesting how our minds are set up to perceive the souls playing the role of Lakshmi and Narayan as the “most elevated.”
However, when “pure gyan” mentions that those souls will become the “lowest ones, ” the most “degraded ones,” the most “impure ones.”
🙂 Then, I can see how some will be frowning for their “devotion” to those beings have been touched by words which are perceived as “derogatory.”
We are dealing with words. What is the meaning of the “lowest one”? Isn’t that the most impure ones? What is the meaning of the most impure ones, the most degraded ones? (Now I am pushing some one’s buttons) In the unlimited, that only means those who have the greatest amounts of karmic accounts to be settled. That is it. Those who have the largest amounts of karmic accounts to be settled are the ones who settle the greatest amount of those accounts. In the unlimited, activities that we consider “degraded” are just activities which will have a return. No moral standards.
Brahma and Mama are souls who have accumulated the greatest number of karmic accounts, but at the same time, the ones who have settled those accounts the most, to become karmateet. A “newer” soul does not have a great deal of karmic bondages to settle, likewise when it is time to go “back home,” that soul will not need BK knowledge to settle his accounts. Those few accounts will be settled through suffering (which as we know is one of the 2 “trusted” ways to settle karmic accounts.) 🙂
Similarly, when the Sakar Murli talks about “pure” and “impure;” it basically means “celibate” and “non-celibate.” The connotation that being “impure” has, could be taken in a derogatory way by those who are not interested in pursuing celibacy. In fact, their roles are like that. 🙂 This is something that we need to keep in mind.
There is power in words. But as we advance spiritually, we will know how to use one word so, we do not cause “unnecessary” upheavals in other souls.
“Pure Gyan” is not “black or white.” It requires an openness beyond the world of conformist repetition and dogmatic views, to see something different, good for all.
