Believing in Awakening

Living in society will bring us some sort of perceived security. A sense of purpose through having a laid out path to complete. We believe that our laws, moral values and “virtuous” living are compatible with higher order.
We believe in working hard to achieve whatever our minds tell us. That is whatever we believe. We live in the world of beliefs. Just achieve. Compete with others if they are in your way. Show them who the best is!
Look out for you and then for the extension of you, your family. “Help” others when yours are OK and have plenty, enough to “give” what is not needed.
Most of all, remain busy. Do things for an objective, a goal. Go to school, then college, get married, have kids, get a house, a car, a couple of pets. Get busy! Save for retirement, then you can ‘relax.’ Most of all… “Be happy!!”

We only understand “get happiness.” Something out there will give me that. I have to keep trying.

In a nutshell, that is the brainwash. The castle built out of “pretty” words. The belief that happiness is to comply with the conditioning.

Likewise, our “spirituality” will be based on that brainwash. There is the goal to achieve: Heaven, god, eternal salvation… Plenty of objectives.
There is the “family” of the “chosen ones.” You are part of it, if you just believe. There is plenty of help to give to others to “save them.” That “good action” will get you brownie points with the “Father,” the creator: God. Then you can ‘relax’ for eternity. Here in society, you work hard to get something for yourself. Over there, for the “spiritual” world, you do the same. We cannot ‘relax’ until we work hard first, right?
Isn’t it that “as it is above, it is below”? That phrase is used out of context. As we wake up, we will realize.

Awakening cannot be for everyone. There are many who rather live in the land of “make believe.”
Awakening is not an easy process. It is not a walk in the park.
It hurts, it disappoints, it hits you against the wall until “you” die. Once you are dead, then you are alive. Logical isn’t it? But it is no longer “you.”
When we are used to eating only chocolate in Life and we feel safe, how are we going to try another flavor? Only when Life offers us vanilla and not chocolate. That is a change of consciousness. Chocolate goes away and our fear to starve gets in the way. Our attachment to the known will not allow us to try something different. When we taste vanilla, we “know.” We become satisfied to taste another flavor and can appreciate chocolate from another perspective, another consciousness.
Awakening is like that. However for most, awakening is only about “understanding” the flavor of vanilla and reading plenty about it, getting certified in vanilla, but never had the opportunity to taste.
When we are ready to leave chocolate, vanilla will come and then chocolate will be gone, and we will “know” that there are many flavors in Life, many ways of looking at Life, many ways of living Life. Otherwise, we believe that Life is only chocolate!

Consciousness is not depending on us and our efforts to “achieve,” as society has conditioned us. So ‘relax.’ Consciousness is our link with Life itself. It happens. Just like Life itself. It happens. All we have to “do” is become AWARE of it.

Awaken through your conditioning

As we awaken, we could realize that to find the “truth” in specific groups, religions, philosophies, parties, teams, congregations and all sorts of labels denoting separation; is a great illusion.

“Why?”
As we know we are a Totality, One. Thus, a small division of people can only bring a particular viewpoint, a perspective, part of the “truth.”
Life is greater than a particular experience, understanding, reasoning, perspective.

“Wait a minute; what you are saying then is just a perspective?”
If you look closely I am not saying anything you did not know before; but something that you may have learned in elementary school: A part cannot be greater than the whole. Remember that teaching?
Isn’t that evident? That is all i’m saying.
Now, let me add some depth to it:” In Life, a part is equal to the whole.”

This pretty much contradicted my former statement. 🙂
Thus, everyone has the “truth.” Paradoxical?
Just like Life. Every “part” is the movie of Life, itself.
Our mind sees a “part,” but Life cannot be divided into “parts.”
It is a continuous.

Now let me put that into “perspective.”
A religion is a “part” and that “part” is equal to the whole. Do you know why?
Because it is just a perspective of “reality,” of the Totality, of what is. For many, that perspective is all there is. Another religion will give a different perspective and so on; thus, an intelligent person will realize: “Every religion has a part of the truth.”
Which brings me back to the beginning… Don’t you love logic and reasoning?  🙂

But let me go deeper. Because every religion has a part of the “truth,” what is not “truth” in them, is falsehood. Therefore, every time we label some part as “truth,” it has also falsehood in it.
Isn’t that paradoxical?
Just like Life.

More depth?
In Life, Truth and Falsehood are the same thing. Just labels.
Thus, while people conditioned to understand the ways and “reasons” of the “Office world,” have truth and falsehood as opposites, creating “morality” as a by-product; Life accepts that mental perspective by allowing it; while expressing itself in other terms, which is strange to our conditioning, creating a sense of “uncertainty” in us. Life is uncertain. Isn’t that one of the main traumas or fears that most have?

“So you wrote all of this just to say nothing useful… What a waste!”
Sorry about that. Here may be the useful stuff that your conditioning is looking for:

We want to understand Life from the perspective of our conditioning.
That ain’t gonna happen, Mac.

Empty to Observe

Any “spiritual” method, religion, philosophy or scientific method cannot take a human being into a different consciousness. A human being cannot change his own consciousness by following a method. Life already has a path for us to follow, a path which will change our consciousness when the path is traveled. Thus, any religion, philosophy or scientific method are only part of our unique path and not the elixir that will take us to our idealized destination.

In “spirituality,” the ideal destination is called “illumination,” “self-realization,” “God realization,” etc.

When following a method, our minds are already biased towards a particular belief or ideal. There is no guarantee of “arrival” but only “strong faith” is required.. we are told. That becomes the belief to hang onto.
Life does not necessarily move according to the information in our minds.

Therefore, there cannot be “pure” observation unless there is emptiness first.
Empty from beliefs, pre-conceptions, mind driven ideas, opinions, guesses, inferences.

To be able to see “newness,” means to experience emptiness.

When empty, the quality of observation is non-judgmental.

Emptiness is not a method, for there are no steps to take someone there. There is a need to unlearn what we think we know, not by denying or by labeling that knowing as “bad;” but by realizing that those things which at one point had usefulness, are no longer needed.

“I” will not be able to perceive Life in a different way while all the past beliefs and opinions are still fresh in my mind.
That realization will happen when we are ready. It is at that point when we truly start our “Life walking” path of awakening, as seekers of ourselves.

Some years back, I recall living in a small town in India for about a month. I did not know anyone there. I recall that I was amazed not to see toilet paper around. When I asked a local how do they clean themselves after their “business,” he said to me: “With our hand.”

With surprise and some sort of disgust I said: “Really???” and he responded: “Really” in an affirming way… noting my uneasiness.

The attitude of disgust and revolt is a rejection. That idea of rejection and disgust for a body part is a strong belief.

In some of my vacation trips when I go through different airports, I observe how toilet paper piles up in the bathroom trash with blood in it as well as excrement. Perhaps that is the other extreme, the compulsive behavior to clean yourself up “really good” even if you hurt yourself.

What is the teaching of this story?

To observe my own reaction. In that way I will know my own “hang ups,” beliefs and attitudes. To become aware of my own attitude of rejection to something or someone is to awaken to the knowledge of my own personality.

I could belittle one tradition of another part of the world, to emphasize how civilized “I am.” Then that experience becomes a way to support the strength of my own ego and to forget about the intricacies of my own persona.

When there is emptiness, observation takes place in a non-judgmental way… that is one way to learn without trying to.

That observation has the intelligence and sharpness to cut the threads of beliefs, to freed ourselves from our own mental knots.

The big questions in life

thin ice

In the mental world, a question and answer debate is expected. Politicians do it and it is amusing for the general public. Professors and intellectuals do it, to show off how much information they have acquired.

Religious people such as theologians do it and come up with fantastic answers, which the general public may accept as the “truth.”

Ask me anything you want. I have an answer for you. Whether you believe me or not, it will not make a difference to you. No difference.

Who am I?
Where do I come from?
What is the purpose of life?

🙂 I can tell you anything. If you believe me, that belief will be another mental information to recite back to someone to convince or even to convince yourself, but that intellectual answer has made no difference whatsoever in you. No difference.

Who am I? I am a soul. I am a body. I am an alien… I am…a lawyer…
Where do I come from? From Mars, from Heaven, from God…
What is the purpose of life? To die, to become a wealthy congressman, to breathe, to be seated next to God…
Pretty words, ugly words… No difference. 🙂

Every answer only defines yourself as something. When a person is defined then there is a limit already in our minds as to what we are supposed to be or to do. That limit is detrimental in our inner discovery for whatever we discover out of our own experience will need to fit our mental beliefs to consider that experience “good,” “right.”

Ladies and gentlemen, to ask those questions are just an intellectual game. Today you may be convinced of an answer, tomorrow you may disagree. Do you know why?
Because you are never the same! 🙂

That is why I agree with the great philosopher, spiritual guru and distinguished intellectual, Mr. Pharrell Williams, when he sings: “Clap along if you feel that happiness is the truth.”
Believe what you believe…
No difference in the inner wall.
Feel happy now, that is all! 🙂

[youtube:http://youtu.be/y6Sxv-sUYtM%5D

Nevertheless, some believe that you must be the same. Some believe that you must have the same ideology, the same beliefs, the same thoughts. Do you know why?

Because it is easy for them to put you into a convenient “box,” a label. “She is a Hare Krishna devotee. He is a Russian.” Those are limits imposed into a person.

In a different consciousness, you are open to discover your own potential. You do not place mental limits in you.. You discover without labels, that is you are out of the mental cage of beliefs.

You can believe anything you want about anyone. Even if you meet that person, you will never get to know the person. Do you know why? 🙂

Because if that person is alive, that person is changing all the time, unless you want for that person to fit into your mental world of labeling.

To appreciate yourself and others as a mystery, as something to be continually discovered without putting limits to yourself or to others, is truly a work of art.

In this consciousness, life is a mystery to be uncovered as we live life; thus our lives are never the same, there is always novelty because there is no limitations as to who we can be.

Two small kids were skating in the ice. One of them made a jump in the air and the ice collapsed. This kid was trapped in the ice and he couldn’t come out. The water was very cold. The kid was going to drown without help. His friend immediately used one of his skates to hit the hard ice around, to make room to pull the kid out. He was successful!!

Later on, when “help” arrived, one of the paramedics said: “How were you able to break the ice… you are only a small kid? That is impossible!”

The answer to this question is simple:
No one told the kid that he couldn’t do it. He had no limits yet.

Awakening the Dreamer

dreamer

Living “reality” as it is entails that all labeling, all type of reaction towards what is “there” are unnecessary.

If we label something, that becomes a preconception. The extent of that “habit” could be very damaging.

Many innocent people have gone to jail because of that.
“I” am sure that I “saw” something, which never happened. “I” am sure that “I” heard something, which never was said. “I” understood something coming from another in a distorted way, which is all in my head. “I” experience things, which “I” label as “true” which are the working of my own mind.

Those are dreams of a dreamer in the present, based on “habits” from the past.

Re-living the past in our minds is like playing an “old” movie, over and over. We even spend the time to change that movie in different scenarios, the “what if” scenarios, without realizing that this past movie is over. Why re-arrange it?

All of that will not allow us to clear our minds.

Please see that none of this is a belief or a religious story. It is something that we need to be aware of if a higher consciousness is to be experienced. It is inner work based on our own observation.

A religion will say: “Be good. Think good things. Think about God.” Please note that we are not escaping into more ideas, (the idea of being good, thinking good or an idea of my thinking on God) but merely confronting what it is “now” through observation.

This is not an “inner fight,” but just to be clear on what is going on with our own minds.

We have the futuristic dreams as well. These types of dreams are supported by our society. Everyone has a dream about his or her future. “I want to be this and do that 5 years from now.”

Avyakt7 is not saying that to do that is “good or bad,” avyakt7 is merely pointing out what is going on.

Once we “set up” our lives in our minds in that way, we will “approve” of certain things, which are OK to happen to us. Other things will be rejected.

Marriage is a good example. Many have in their head an “ideal” partner in an “ideal” circumstance, in an “ideal” time, etc.

Many times an opportunity is missed because it does not fit what we have in our heads. We forget the heart and more important, we forget to be honest with ourselves, that is to find our “truth” at every moment.

Life moves. To take a side in something means the possibility to acknowledge the validity of the opposite side of things as well.

“First, I will do this and then that and it has to be in that order because I want this thing out of life.”
We call that a goal. Life has its own movement, which may not be the fixation that we have in our minds. “My dream.”

The interesting thing is that there is no mundane “goal” in life that will bring any lasting fulfillment and thus, no goal which is “higher” than anything else.

On the other hand, when we are talking about spirituality and “higher consciousness” as a goal, it is not related with any circumstances around us. Marriage, jobs, duties, social status, economical status are of no consequence when the “goal “is to be aware, conscious or ourselves and what is going on in our minds, to make sense of our lives.

Certainly; tranquility, serenity, calmness will give the appropriate environment for this awareness to take place, but we need to grow into giving “value” to those “commodities” which are important in life so we can see life under a different perspective, with greater consciousness.

Take the time to smell the roses. Take the time to watch the sunset. Take the time to appreciate the moon in a deep night.

Take the time to salute the Sun. Take the time to perceive life, its harmony in the nurturing environment of serenity, before life, the “moment,” moves away.

Silence, Movement and Calmness – By: Mathias

(from “the Awakening”- Mathias – translated from Spanish)

Many times we limit our thinking by talking to ourselves and by talking to ourselves in a negative way, through the use of language in an improper way. Together with this; we are continually ingesting toxic emotions which have brought our planet, physical and emotional damage.

How do we finish these habits?
1) By becoming conscious of silence
2) By having undivided attention to movement
3) By taking things with calmness.

1. Becoming conscious of silence:

Silence allows sound and symphony to build and shape up everything that exists in this world.
Silence also communicates, meaning; it transports subtle information to far away distances with great intensity.
Silence allows restructuring of our language and its form by nullifying the effect of a destructive atmosphere.
Silence gives life to “space.” Without space there is neither form nor harmony.

When rain drops down, it has sound. The wind has sound. The combination of both is symphony.
The space between each sound will bring stillness to the mind.

In that stillness. there is emptiness and in this emptiness, it is possible to expel or eliminate any type of energy from the physical body, even the one which has introduced itself in the heart.

To begin the “healing dose,” it is important to bring an attitude of celebration, cheerfulness and then dance. All of this is in relationship with others.

Many times in the “party of life,” the sounds coming from the mouths or hearts of someone, are like noise, but still we need to dance. For movement will not allow us to accumulate that given energy, and they will hesitate to give the same noise again.

Celebration of life is a song. The symphony of silence.

In order to heal and regenerate we need to use:
Light + sound
Space + time
Silence + Stillness
All of that will equal cellular regeneration.

We could call everything mentioned thus far, the “structure of the symphony” and this should be combined with the other “doses” to intensify its effect.

This effect with affection is called magic.

Before trying to take the next step, let go of all structures from the past. Don’t fix anything without making sure that you have let go before.
Let go, give a space to yourself. Now fix a “theme” to work on at a time, then give it form. Then, let it go; do not expect anything. Let it go. To know that this movement has harmony with life is known as celebration.

2. Bring complete attention to movement.

In this movement there is power. That harmonious movement utilizes this symphony; that means time and space which together along with harmonious breathing in total consciousness, will bring the renovated restitution of energy in the self.

A relaxed, fluent movement increases performance. It improves the distribution of oxygen, allowing us to better absorb the essential nutrients of life.

Movement with attention and consciousness will allow us to reach self-mastery of the physical senses with greater agility besides clarity of vision.

This extrasensory perception will speed up the manifestation of what is emitted in matter. The mind in its state of density usually stops this movement.
To move means to let go. To bring attention means to fix, to establish, then our consciousness will be able to give that a new form.

3. Take things with calmness

Psychological time and the structures from the past, need to be eliminated. To go beyond time, we need to finish with all interest in physicality and all its different roots.

To be in calmness is the art of disinterest. It is to generate a redirection with the unlimited. To break all barriers brought by time means to move at great speed. That speed without harmony, creates chaos.

For example: One morning John went for a walk to know the town but with the excuse in his mind of “not having time,” he wouldn’t allow himself to enjoy anything.

To take things with calmness, is to introduce in the mind a new habit, a new behavior, which means to observe and then to emit, to act and then to perceive , to perceive and then to transport.

Transformation of that which is perceived, means to dissolve and generate new spaces, where the physical senses do not play an important role, since these are limited by time and space.

For example: To listen in silence is only possible when you are capable of going beyond the influence of any physical sense. This is done through the stability of vision. That is, to look for a space where the mind is free from the influence of time. To be in a hurry or to believe to be in a hurry does not help to relax the mind. The “information” will flow through you and because you are unable to “catch it,” this information will naturally dilute itself.

Calmness means to feel the absence of the unknown, is to surrender to certainty in an appropriate way. It is to feel that that which has arrived to you has necessary motives to exist and requires total acceptance.

In this conformity with that which exists, a natural skill will emerge in you and the nutrients for life will arrive to you and all of the sudden only gratitude will emerge in you.

The harmonic movement allow us to take things with calmness; that is to feel total respect for that which comes without any further labels as good or bad, because this labeling will not allow its manifestation with a null state; it will avoid the development of communication and healing through a healthy use of the energy of words.

While things are happening, only there is a need to celebrate life. To use our time in healing that pressure of our own mental belief that everything should happen faster. Sometimes, that movement in our life stops because we are not ready; and this will bring great consequences; which could last days, months or even years.. . and even though that could happen, still take things with calmness because in the least expected moment, perhaps a door will be open! We could come in, but to remain there, means to maintain that harmony and thereby understand that everything is coming to us in the right moment. This does not depend on no one or anyone. It just happens. When? At the right time.

In the meantime, celebrate, smile and dance with life.
